Clay Cooke
Co-Executive Director of School of Love

Clay was raised in the small town of Rural Hall, NC, and he moved to Winston-Salem in high school. At the age of sixteen he gave his life to Christ at a Young Life camp. Clay has been married to his beautiful wife Bekah for fifteen years, and together they have three children: Ever, Owen, and August. To know anything about Clay is to know that what takes place inside his home is the most precious gift in his life. He loves being a husband, and he loves being a dad. Clay received a Ph.D. in Theology & Ethics from Fuller Theological Seminary, and he holds a second doctorate in Systematic Theology from the Free University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands). His academic training was to serve what he sees as his vocational identity and calling: a mash-up of teacher and contemplative, with a hint of prophetic sensibility. He returned to Winston-Salem five years ago and now serves as Co-Executive Director of School of Love.

Desirae’ is a fresh Wake Forest Grad (c/o 2019!!) with a major in Sociology and a minor in Dance. She’s a Winston native and attends St. Peters Church and World Outreach Center.

She’s excited to help solidify operations with Love Out Loud’s programs and help connect and mobilize individuals around the city.
