These training labs are deeply encouraged, open, and free to all.
Holistic Compassion Ministry Training labs are part of our Pathways Growth sessions, designed as part of our Pathways process to assist community members in taking a step back from serving and walk through a process of personal assessment, contextual growth, and engagement before serving in order to plug them into service opportunities that fulfill the center of who they were created to be. By partnering with Community Organizations we are able to help provide these Growth Sessions to you.

Demonstration Of Compassion & Confrontation Of Injustice

Building upon the previous lab will continue cultivate a theology of compassion rooted in the costly grace of Jesus. This lab will include a powerful exercise that helps us work through the ways in which unconscious biases shape our interactions with marginalized communities & how understanding the “imago dei” is critical to overcoming these issues. We will provide examples of ministries that effectively transitioned from a relief focus in their compassion ministries to an empowerment paradigm.
Confrontation of Injustice
In this section we will seek to recover the very biblical old & new testament theme of “justice”. We will work to form deep awareness of structural/systemic injustice & the historical trauma that communities who have suffered through it carry. Finally, we will unpack biblical examples of communities that organized themselves for the faith-rooted confrontation of injustice. We’ll answer questions about how compassion ministries should by all means be not only be aware of, but also be actively seeking ways to creatively overcome legacies of oppression that impact the day-to-day lives of those they love & serve.
