How to Create & Sign Up with a Team

To sign up with a team you can click “Sign up with team” or “Express Interest with Team” on an opportunity

or on the main volunteer page by toggling over “My Account” and Clicking “My Team” then “Create a New Team”

2. Click “Create a New Team”

3. Will redirect you to this page: 

Team name can just be “Parkland PTSA”, “Jones Small Group” – or whatever you desire. 

Description can be short, “Student Service Team” or “Church Small Group”

4. Insert names/email addresses for those signed up. You can go back and add or edit later. Each team can have up to 99 members. Once you click submit your team is created. Revisit the “My Teams” page to edit membership

 5. If you began this process by signing up for an opportunity with a team - click the button that says “Click Here to Continue Opportunity Sign Up with your team” you will be redirected to a page like this to sign up for the opportunity

As stated above, even if there are 20 people on your team, you don’t have to sign them all up for the opportunity.

6. Click the drop down menu to choose your team 

7. Once team is selected it will prompt you to choose what team memebers you are signing up for the opportunity. Choose, submit, and you’re signed up!

HOW TO: Update your profile with Skills

  1. Login to your HandsOn Connect Profile at

  2. Click on “My Account” In the top left and scroll over “Overview”

3. To Update your address, email address, phone number, login information, Availability or general interests Click “Personal Information”

  • Be sure to click “Update” at the bottom of the page when you are satisfied with your answers

4. To Update your volunteer Skills click “Skills”

On this page you are able to choose from a variety of skill categories and select your level of proficiency. This will allow you to better find opportunities that meet your interests and skill sets.

HOW TO: Search for a Volunteer Opportunity

Once you have created a profile on Hands On Connect there are a variety of ways you can search for opportunities: 

1. Go to Hands On Connect

2. Login (top right corner)

3. To search for a specific organization - click "For Volunteers" in the top banner and "Browse Organizations"

   To search for a specific date - click "For Volunteers" in the top banner and "Opportunity Calendar"

  To search all opportunities - click "Volunteer Now" in the center of the screen.

4. You can scroll through results or filter with the options in the left sidebar.

5. Click opportunity name to learn more & sign up!

HOW TO: Create A Hands On NWNC Volunteer Profile?

Hands On NWNC is the database that Pathways uses to connect our volunteers to opportunities around the city. Please follow the steps below to create a profile.

1. Start at:

2. Click on "Sign up to volunteer"

3. Fill out all asked information including demographic information

4. Answer "How Did you learn about HandsOn NWNC / HandsOn Connect?" with "I learned about it through Love Out Loud / Pathways"

5. Submit Page

6. When the next page loads click "Personal Information" in the top left

7. Scroll down and fill in "Volunteer Availability" and "Volunteer Interests" & Save

8. At the top left of the page click "Skills"

9. Fill out any skill information you'd like and save


10. After you create your profile you will receive a call from a Navigator within 3 - 5 business days. 

Thanks for volunteering with us!

HOW TO: Report My Hours Served

1.      Start at:

2.      Login using green button in top right corner (this should be the same email to which you received confirmation emails)

3.      Scroll down until you see your “Volunteer History with HandsOn NWNC”

4.      Click “Report Hours” on specific activity (See highlight below).


5.      Add the hours you volunteered at the event and click “Submit”
