Twice now, women from different backgrounds - gentile, Jewish, gay, young, old, of diverse professions, and economic status - answered an invitation to come together.
These women came sharing, willing to listen, not judge; open to discussing their individual desires to learn more about the other race. Reveling in their introducing of themselves, why they came; and the anxiety they may have felt as they ventured out in the down-pour of rain and threats of storm, floods and possible tornadoes - these white & black women left their comfort zone to talk, meet, laugh and even to shed some tears.
Love was the conduit and the passion that made this Platform Summit different from anything that could have been imagined or dared to envision.
Over 50 ladies electrified the WMM Community Center and transcended the space of three hours and 30 minutes of love and unity into a safe place, sheltered from the hatred, the discord, we see on the internet, we watch on the television news and social media.
