This abridged 50 minute session is the first of a series designed to help churches, non-profits, community groups, & individuals to faithfully & holistically bear witness to Kin(g)dom of God in vulnerable & marginalized neighborhoods. Framed by Noel Castellano’s book, “Where the Cross Meets the Streets”, these sessions will create space for practitioners to learn, dialogue about, & wrestle with paradigm shifting truths. Castellano’s contends that “the whole work of The Cross” calls us to demonstrate compassion, work for restoration & development of individuals AND distressed communities, & to confront injustice with love. Participants in these trainings will be given time-tested & biblically crafted tools to cultivate the spiritual vitality, theological depth, cultural intelligence, social consciousness, & historical awareness necessary to effectively transition from seasonal charity to sustained solidarity with the least, the last and the lost.
